Is Zapier safe for business data?

Short answer: For most businesses, yes. Zapier says it is SOC 2 Type II and SOC 3 audited, encrypts data in transit and at rest, and does not train AI on the data in your workflows. The bigger risks are usually yours: who can build Zaps, which apps they connect, and sensitive data passing through steps that do not need it.

What Zapier provides

Security reports in its Trust Center, two-factor login on every plan, and on Enterprise single sign-on, audit logs, app restrictions and approvals before workflow changes go live.

Questions

Is n8n secure for business use?

n8n can be used securely, but how secure it is depends on how it is set up. On n8n Cloud the vendor runs the servers; when self-hosted, you are responsible for updates, HTTPS, logins, backups and protecting stored credentials. Follow the security guidance in the n8n docs and give each workflow only the access it needs.

Is it safe to give AI access to company data?

It can be, with the right controls. Give the AI access only to the data a task needs, use business plans whose terms say your data is not used to train models, keep logs, and require a human to approve risky actions. Watch for known risks such as prompt injection, where hidden text in a document tricks the AI.
